Tell us briefly about your dance company and its underlying philosophy.

The primary goal of the company is to create NEW dances in collaboration with other working artists; composers, designers, visual artists and film makers. I’m also very interested in the long term relationships that i have developed with Hysterica dancers, some have danced for me for over 10 years, and how that resonates within the choreography adding depth and intimacy.

What piece will you be performing at Celebrate Dance 2012?

We are premiering a new work. The working title is “motion capture.”  I’m very excited because it’s bringing together many of the past and present Hysterica dancers in one large scale piece.

Bruno Louchouarn, a Los Angeles based composer, is creating the original score.

What do you hope to evoke in the audience with your piece?

A sense of interconnection: between the dancers, the dancers and myself and the piece and viewers.

How did you hear about Celebrate Dance and become involved with the show?

I have a great deal of respect for Jamie Nichols and Celebrate Dance. She invited me to be involved…I am honored to share the evening with the such amazing companies.

Any words of advice or inspiration for other dancers and choreographers?

Trust your gut!
